Our church partners with this ministry birthed from the 1st United Methodist Church of New Carlisle. We support the needs of the orphans in Tarime, Tanzania, Africa through the LOVE FUND and the Miracle Offering. Bricks are being purchased for a new orphanage for 41 orphans. Monthly financial support is needed for the children (food, clothes, schooling, etc.). To adopt an orphan contact the 1st United Methodist Church at 937-845-8435 or http://www.grassrootsministry.org/.

  UMCOR

The United Methodist Committee on Relief's mission is to alleviate human suffering-whether caused by war, conflict, or natural disaster-with open minds and hearts to all people. Our church supports this General Board of Global Ministries by participating in the "One Great Hour of Sharing" special offering always held in March. All proceeds go to this disaster relief team of the United Methodist Church. www.umcor.org

  UMC Apportionments

By combining several smaller gifts into a larger amount, we can effect change across the world. Individual churches can minister to a small area; however, as a connectional church, we can do big things, all in the name of Jesus Christ. United Methodists support apportioned and designated funds through their connectional gifts (apportionments). The General Conference (www.umc.org) establishes budgets for the denomination's general funds. These are divided among annual conferences, based on a specific formula. Each annual conference (We are in the West Ohio Conference. www.westohioumc.org), using its own approved formula, divides these fund requests, along with conference administrative and benevolence fund requests, among local churches. In addition, individuals, local churches, districts (We are in the Miami Valley District www.miamivalleydistrict.com) and annual conferences may make monetary gifts to the designated funds, of which 100 percent goes directly to a specific project or ministry.
